Una Academia de mujeres de base en América Latina y el Caribe: Un punto de enlace, de intercambio de conocimiento y de fortalecimiento regional para organizaciones de base de mujeres

La Primera Academia de mujeres de base en América Latina y el Caribe fue un gran éxito! Liderezas de base planificaron y dirigieron un evento en que 90 mujeres de 15 países en la región compartieron prácticas exitosas de sus comunidades y desarrollaron ideas de cómo podrían aprender la una de la otra y transferir su conocimiento. Entre las ideas fueron: intercambios entre iguales sobre grupos de ahorro y crédito autónomos, prácticas en la agricultura sostenible y programas de vivienda popular urbana. Al final de los cuatro días, el grupo logró un consenso de cómo seguir adelante juntas durante los próximos dos años.

Grassroots Academy in Latin America and the Caribbean:
An opportunity for grassroots women’s organizations to network and share knowledge, strengthening their presence in the region

The First Latin American and Caribbean Grassroots Academy was a phenomenal success! Grassroots leaders planned and led an event where 90 women from 15 countries in the region shared their successful community practices and came up with ideas of how they could learn and build upon each other’s knowledge. Among the ideas were holding peer exchanges on women’s autonomous savings and credit schemes, sustainable agriculture practices and popular housing programs for the urban poor. By the end of the four days, the group achieved a consensus on how to move forward together for the next two years.
